With the ever increasing population of the country, villages are
fast converting into towns while towns are taking the shape of megalopolis.
The number of residential plots is also fast decreasing. Commerce
and trade have taken the front seat in the new world order. That
is why every now and then, new buildings are coming up to conduct
commerce and trade practices. Such buildings are entirely devoted
to commercial purposes are termed as commercial complexes. These
are the gifts of modern world to humanity. In a modern commercial
complex not even an inch of space is wasted or misused. Shops, offices
and scores of other things are built in such complexes. Even oblique
shaped space is converted into shops. Most of the ground area is
used as parking. In fact all the principles of VAASTU Shastra cannot
be followed in the construction of these complexes. Still, one should
follow the principles of VAASTU as much as the location allows.
A few precautions are discussed here.
- Only a square or rectangular plot of land with all the four
corners at right angles should be selected to build commercial
complex.
- Some open space must be left around the complex or cinema hall.
Here again the open space should be maximum in the north and the
east and minimum in the south and the west.
- North-eastern corner is the best to develop as parking area
and green belt in a complex.
- General slope should be given towards the north east. Borewell
should also be dug in the same direction or in the west.
- South-western corner of the complex must be somewhat elevated.
- There should be no big trees or poles around or in front of
the complex.
- Water tank should be built on the roof in the north-eastern
corner. It can be safely built in the east, north and the west
direction as well.
- Drainage must be situated in the north or in the east.
- Drainage of effluents should be kept in the south-west direction.
- Main entrance to the complex must be situated in the north
or in the east.
- Height of the ground floor or the first storey should be somewhat
higher than that of the main entrance.
- Separate gates should be provided in the complex for the entry
and exit.
- Most of the rooms should be built in the northern or the eastern
part of the complex.
- Each office in a complex should have an attached toilet, which
should be given in the south-west corner.
- If necessary, godowns may be given to each office and shop
in a complex. But the godown should occupy a place in the south
or in the west.
- Stairs should be given in the southern or western part of the
complex with usual dextral rotation.
- Balconies should be given in the north or in the east.
- Every room in a complex should have such a proportionate length
and breadth as is facilitating to the easy flow of breath. Every
room should also be provided with proper ventilation and exhaust
pipe.
- If the complex is 45 feet or more in height, it must necessarily
be provided with a lightning conductor.
- All the floors of a complex should have equal height.
SITTING ARRANGEMENT IN AN OFFICE
According to Feng Shui (the Chinese equivalent of VAASTU) deeper
a space you take in your office, the better it will be for you.
If you are the boss, you should not sit with your back facing the
main door or the door of the cabin. Neither should you take a seat
immediately beneath the beam, in the corridor and at the end of
a long passage.
If there is an angular obstacle at the place of your sitting, correct
it with a flower pot with natural flowers. You should then make
your sitting arrangement at the inner angle placing your furniture
slightly oblique.
CHAMBER OF THE MANAGER AND DIRECTOR
Chamber of the manager or the director should face the north and
the manager or director should himself occupy his seat facing the
north. His or her chair should be placed just opposite the door.
In the banks, passage from the entrance to the manager's chamber
must turn right. Cash counters should not be situated in the south-west
direction. This corner should be used to store waste paper and other
materials.
Sitting arrangements for the employees should be made in the east
or in the north. No employee, however should take a seat just beneath
a beam, for he may then commit a blunder in calculations and other
tasks assigned to him.
Bank lockers can be built in the south as well as in the north.
Toilet of the banks should be built in the south-western direction.
Traders and merchants also have their seats facing north or the
east and keep their cash box in the north-eastern corner or in the
north. They should paint the walls of their office in green or yellow.
SYMBOLIC VAASTU SHAASTRA
Symbolic VAASTU Shaastra is a discourse of symbols. No planet or
heavenly body does direct harm or provides direct benefits but manifests
its influence through symbols. Everything that you see around you
is in fact a symbol. You have the power to understand the relation
it has with rest of the world. This learning of how to analyse the
incidents that occur with us constitutes the main body of symbolic
VAASTU Shaastra. Suppose you are going somewhere and see a cow in
the way and if your task is finished successful you will certainly
give credit to seeing the cow in the beginning. But if you see an
ass at the onset and return unsuccessful, you will blame the omen
for your failure. These simple incidents show the relation between
the person and the universe.
Suppose again that material losses begin to occur in your household
immediately after you built your toilet in the north-eastern corner.
This also shows a link between the person and the universe. Nothing
happens abruptly in the world. Everything takes time to mature and
bear fruits. If you are suffering economic hardships, surely you
must be having some misfitting symbol in your house.
There is certainly a power in the universe that settles the destiny
of human being as per his deeds. Planets are simply symbols to show
that, indications that show that all is not well with a person.
That is why, high degree of conformity is found between the events
on earth and the planetary positions during those events.
In one case, a man did not have any child even after many years
of marriage. He and his wife were declared physically fit in medical
check ups. So the case was brought in for astrological scrutiny.
But the horoscope of the man was also not available. So his bedroom
was examined. It was found that his iron bedstead was broken and
the cushion on it was also in very shabby condition and was covered
with black sheet. Thus the condition of the man's bedroom clearly
indicated that Venus was not well placed in his horoscope.
If the Venus is well placed in the horoscope only then one gets
comforts of the bed. Cosy bed and the enjoyments related to it are
ruled by Venus. But if the bedstead itself is broken, how can Venus
be good. Broken bedstead of iron with a shabby cushion on it and
that too covered with black sheet, all these combinations show that
Venus is overridden by Saturn. In other words, Saturn has outsmarted
Venus in exerting influences. Detailed medical examinations later
revealed that the man was having only a fewer sperms in his semen
and hence impotent.
Thus the dire shabby condition of the bedstead on which the man
and his wife used to sleep after their marriage showed badly placed
Venus in his horoscope. This is the discourse known as symbolic
VAASTU Shaastra.
COMMERCE AND SYMBOLIC VAASTU SHASTRA
JEWELLERY SHOP: Mostly gold and silver items are traded through
jewellery shops. These items are primarily ruled by Venus. Hence
the business of Jewellary is the domain of Venus. To promote the
sales of jewellery, therefore, pretty sales girls ought to be appointed
at the jewellery shops. Venus also represents beautiful and fortunate
women. Hence, the presence of pretty sales girls on the counter
will strengthen their sales and reap rich profit.
CUTLERY SHOP AND BEAUTY PARLOURS
Cutlery shop and beauty parlours are also the domain of Venus.
If symbols related to Venus are used profusely, these shops can
also be run in profit. Accordingly, a silver coin ought to be put
in the south-east corner of the shop. Cutlery and beauty parlour
are the trades mainly dominated by the women. Most of the customers
at these shops are women and the south east corner is the abode
of Venus. Silver too is a symbol of Venus. Hence, installation of
silver coin in the south-east corner will result in an increase
in the influence of Venus and thereby making the venture a profitable
one.
TRADES DOMINATED BY VENUS
Proper colouring of the business premises is an integral part of
VAASTU. Similarly, symbolic naming of the business is also indispensable
from the principles of VAASTU Shastra.
Venus is a royal planet. Trades like music, art, hobbies, photography,
film, theatre, cosmetics, beauty parlour, hotels and those that
involve active interaction with the womenfolk, are all the domains
of Venus. If these businesses are given feminine names like Vaishali,
Geetanjali, Menaka, Urvashi etc. they have brighter prospect.
Natraja is an epithet of Lord Shankar. Being related to the art
of dancing, the name Natraja symbolises Venus. Hence discotheques,
theatres, studio etc. could be named as Natraj.
But never name these above mentioned business after the names of
gods and goddesses because gods and goddesses symbolises Guru (Jupiter).
Jupiter and Venus are unfriendly with each other, hence if named
after god or goddess, serious frictions may appear in the business.
TRADES DOMINATED BY JUPITER
Jupiter is considered as one of the extremely auspicious planets.
If Jupiter is strong in one's horoscope, it nullifies the adverse
effects of other weak planets and hence saves the native from undue
sufferings. If, however position of Jupiter is weak, one should
make the use of symbolic VAASTU Shastra.
Influence of those, Jupiter is strong in whose horoscope, can be
seen in their family, social circle and other fields. Those with
weak Jupiter don't get due respect in family, society etc. Those
involve in the business dominated by Jupiter must wear the symbols
of Jupiter like yellow clothes, Tilak (mark of sandal and turmeric
paste on the forehead), religious scriptures, Janeu (sacred thread
round the shoulder), rosary beads, topaz etc.
Judge, advocate, palmist, astrologer, priest, religious teacher
and preacher, teacher, ascetics, father, astrologer, share market,
education, publication of books, educational institutions, trade
of chickpea, sugar, turmeric, ghee, salt, finance company, banking,
temples, mosques, Guruduara, churches etc. are all the domain of
Jupiter and symbolise it. Business related to above faculties should
therefore, be named after the names of gods and goddesses and religious
teachers like Saraswati Vidyalaya, Vivekananda School, Laxmi Finance
etc.
FINANCIAL INSTITUTES
Banks and non-banking financial institutes are also the domain
of Jupiter. Hence, if such institutions are present in the vicinity
of temples or other religious body, their business runs smoothly.
Following points should however, be kept in mind:
- Financial institutions should store their stationery in the
north.
- Walls of the office of the financial institutions must be painted
in light yellow or green.
- Pictures of the religious teachers must be present in the offices
of financial institutions.
- Cash counters must be located in north facing north.
- Lockers must be installed in the north-eastern corner of the
bank's premise.
