CONSIDERATION OF YOGA
On a particular day, date, and during a particular Nakshatra, a
particular conjuction or conjugation of day and date or day, date
and Nakshatra results. One such conjugation, known as Amrityoga,
is extremely auspicious for making maiden entry. One must avoid
making maiden entry during Dagdh Yoga, Mrityu Yoga and Yamaghant.
Apart from these, maiden entry is auspicious except during the five
Ghati of Shoolyoga, half-part of Paridhyoga, six Ghati of Atiganda
Yoga and nine Ghati of Vyaghrat Yoga. Maiden entry is totally prohibited
during the entire period of Mritu Yoga, Vyatipat and Vaghriti Yoga.
PERFORATIONS OR PORES
In VAASTU Shastra, perforation or pore means obstacle that arises
due to faulty construction. These obstacles should not be mistaken
with physical obstacles. These are purely metaphysical in nature,
but have far reaching consequences on the occupants of the house.
A house, thus built investing earnings of whole life may appear
attractive from outside, but its occupants have no peace of mind.
A few of such obstacles (perforations) are discussed here:
1) Obstacle due to Door: This blocks
free movement of air and the Sun. Because of it, occupants fail
to fully harness the goodness of the Sun and fresh air.
2) Obstacle due to Orientation: Orientation
of the house must not be fixed arbitrarily in any of the four directions
- east, west, north and south. If a house is built with its orientation
in any arbitrary direction, it may lead to loss of wealth and clan.
If you have slightest doubt regarding auspiciousness of any direction,
do not extend your house in that direction.
Even when you are planning to get your old house demolished and
builds a new one in its place, do not violate the orientation and
directions of the old house, or you will suffer obstacles due to
faulty orientation.
3) Obstacle due to Angle/Corner: All
the four corners of a house must have exact right angles. If any
of these corners is less than or more than the right angle, such
situation causes obstacles due to faulty angles or corners.
If a corner of a house falls exactly in front of the gate of another
house, this also causes obstacle due to corners. If a house has
three, five or more corners, it also suffers from obstacles due
to faulty corners. Occupants of a house with faulty corners face
untimely death, extra-ordinary diseases and extermination of clan.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO CORRECT OBSTACLES?
- Don't make a door at the centre of the house or at any joint.
- If the house doesn't have more storeys, don't give a backdoor.
- There should not be highway crossing, well, pond, gutter, corner
of another house, big tree, pole peg, garage etc. in front of
the main gate. These are not good from the security's point of
view.
- There should not be standing water or mud in front of the main
gate. Such things cause obstacle to free passage and weaken the
foundation.
- Obstacles due to peg: There should not a peg right in front
of the gate to tether cow, goat or any other animal.
- Creaking sound: Creaking sound that is generated by the movement
of the doors, is also a bad omen.
- Obstacle due to well: A well, man hole and water tank situated
in front of the main gate or the house casting its shadow on it,
is also an obstacle.
- There should not be an oil expeller or gutter right in front
of the main gate. Such thing indicates grave calamity.
- Doors of the house should not vary in height, for then they
cause serious obstacles.
- Ladder or staircase right facing the main gate is also an obstacle.
N.B.: It should be noted here if the obstacle is situated at a
distance double than the height of the house, its faults are removed.
If there is a wall between the obstacle and the courtyard, the obstacle
has no effect. Similarly if a through fare crosses between the house
and the obstacle, the latter is rendered ineffective.
- Obstacle due to Pillar: If there
is a single column or pillar common between the two adjoining
rooms, it causes enemity among the occupants. Each room must have
its separate column. Also there should not be a column facing
a door.
- Obstacles due to learing: Such houses
as attract learing gazes from the passers-by appear deserted with
eerie atmosphere are said to have obstacles due to lear and sneers.
- Obstacle due to hole: No space, even
the size of a needle's eye, must be left open at the backside
of the house. There should be no hole on the back wall also. Such
openings facilitate the entry of ghosts and demonic forces and
pose danger of theft.
- Obstacles due to portraits: Never
adorn the walls of your living or any other room with portraits
of tiger, lion, dog, panther, leopard, crow, owl, vulture, falcon
or spooks, demons and war scenes for these cause serious obstacles.
- Obstacles due to sculptures: Sculptures
of above mentioned creatures also produce similar obstacles.
If both the storeys of a house are exactly the same in height,
the situation causes obstacles. Such situation causes disintegration
of the family. Hence, the upper storey must be kept about 1/12th
part shorter in height than the lower one.
OBSTACLES DUE TO TREES
If there is a big tree right in front of the main gate, the situation
causes serious obstacles. The older the tree, serious are the threats.
Such trees, if fall ever by chance, will cause great harm to the
house. Such a tree also weakens the foundation and there are dangers
to be struck by lightning during thunderstorm.
Falling of shadow of a tree on a house, building, factory, etc.
for more than a quarter of the day is also inauspicious. Such situation
causes demonic virtues and serious diseases.
Presence of fruiting or thorny trees in the vicinity of house is
also inauspicious. Thorny trees cause pains, while fruit trees pose
danger of theft.
Planting of banana, lavender, Champak (laurel), Ashok etc. at the
main gate or along the boundary-wall is auspicious.
As per the scriptures, planting of Banyan in the eastern side of
the house, sycamore in the southern side, Peepal in the western
side and Pakur in the northern side, is considered as auspicious
provided that the house is facing east.
Planting of basil sapling in the courtyard is extremely auspicious
and important religiously.
OBSTACLE DUE TO FLAG
If the shadow of a temple's flag falls on the house, the situation
causes many obstacles. Because of casting of shadow of the temple's
flag on the house or vicinity of the house to a temple, the house
comes under the domain of the ruling deity of the temple. Many things
like toilet, bathroom, mensus in women, mating, childbirth etc.
are common in households, but forbidden in the domain of the temple,
and the occupants have to bear huge losses as a result. Ideally
a house must be situated at least one hundred feet away from a temple.
Similarly, a house must be situated away from the shadow of the
hills and the trees. But these last two conditions do not apply
to the houses in mountainous region.
OBSTACLES DUE TO LOCATION
Obstacles due to location arise if there is a home of washers,
hearth of a blacksmith, flour-mill or home of a childless couple
just in front of the house. If there is a cremation site or parking
place for the hearse carriers near the house, it faces grave obstacles
due to location.
OBSTACLES DUE TO PATH
It is also an inauspicious sign if a house, factory or industry
is flanked by a pond on one side and by garbage incineration site
on the other. If such a building is situated at the junction of
three paths, it is also considered inauspicious.
If a hill, huge stone or other unwanted hurdles face the main gate,
the owner of the house experiences great obstacles at every step
of his life.
If the two houses have a common entrance, their occupants experience
serious miseries.
Presence of a pond, particularly triangular in shape, just in front
of the main gate indicates bad omen.
If the boundary wall of a factory or shop is higher than the main
building, the situation poses serious obstacles to the business.
Owner of such premises is unable to raise capital beyond a certain
limit.
Presence of ruins in front of a house, factory or industry is not
an auspicious sign. Sighting of such ruins daily leads the person
to fall ultimately forcing closure of his running business.
