The Triadic Spread
A simple method, in which the cards you lay out on the left represent
the past, those in the middle the present, and those on the right
the future. Though you can lay out as many cards as you wish, but
it is best to keep three in each stack. This spread was used by
ancient druids.
The Celtic Cross Spread
First of all select your own personal card or the card for the
querent. If you are a male over forty belonging to any air sign
then select the king of Swords as your significator. If you are
a woman then likewise select a Queen card of an appropriate suit.
If you are under forty then select a Knight card if you are a man,
and a Page card if you are a woman. Cover the significator card
with the first card, and place the second card across it. Put the
third card which you take out from the spread on the top, the fourth
card at the bottom, the fifth card on the left hand side, and the
sixth card on the right hand side. Put the seventh, eighth, ninth
and the tenth card in one row on the right hand side. First two
cards show different aspects of the present situation. The third
card shows us what is on the querent's mind. The fourth tells us
about the various influences of past three years. It is also shows
the foundation of the querent's situation. Fifth card shows the
recent influences. Sixth card shows the influences of the year ahead,
while the seventh signifies doorway from the present to future.
While the eighth card shows the personal life, the nineth reveals
the secret hopes and anxieties. And the tenth tells us the overview.
